The Story of Andrew Collins

A journey of innovation and leadership.

From an early age, Andrew Collins exhibited an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for leadership. At just 19, he founded his first company, Weddingbells — marking the beginning of an illustrious career spanning more than three decades across multiple industries. Born in Hexham, United Kingdom, and raised in the Netherlands, Andrew's multicultural upbringing fostered a global perspective that has been instrumental in his professional success.

Andrew's career trajectory is marked by a series of impressive milestones. His journey began with a part-time job at Bart Smit toy stores, where his dedication and natural leadership quickly earned him a promotion to Store Manager. This early experience laid the foundation for everything that followed in business management and development.

A pivotal moment came when Andrew joined Service Industries Ltd (SIL) as Group CEO — expanding operations across Europe and securing high-profile clients including Philips and Dell. His strategic vision drove sales from $15 million to $220 million in just four years, leading directly to the acquisition by NCR Corporation.

Andrew was tasked with integrating SIL into NCR's operations across EMEA. Not one to rest on his laurels, he then ventured into the telecom industry with C.A.S.S — a company he founded to meet the IT needs of businesses. His innovative approach and keen market insight led to expansion into satellite communications, achieving $1 million in sales within a year with minimal investment.

Throughout his career, Andrew has demonstrated a unique ability to identify opportunities and drive innovation. At 12Connect, he capitalised on the burgeoning mobile market by developing an app that generated significant revenue and established the company as a recognisable telecom brand. Similarly, at Motto Communications, he shifted the company's focus from end-users to wholesale — boosting turnover from $800,000 to $6 million in two years.

Andrew's expertise extends far beyond business development. His roles have often required a delicate balance of strategic planning, project management and team leadership. As Interim Lead Project Manager at MediaMarkt Benelux, he successfully overhauled their e-commerce platforms — launching new sites and enhancing the customer experience. His ability to lead large teams and manage complex projects has been a hallmark of his work.

In addition to his technical and managerial capabilities, Andrew's interpersonal abilities have been widely recognised. Colleagues and clients commend his energy, positivity and knack for inspiring and motivating teams. His work at Let's Talk, where he stepped in as Interim General Manager, is a testament to his leadership and ability to drive productivity and workplace satisfaction.

Andrew's career has also been marked by significant international experience. As Interim Director of USA Partnerships for a digital consultancy firm, he played a crucial role in expanding the organisation's reach in the United States. His global business acumen, honed through extensive experience across Europe, Asia and the USA, has enabled him to navigate complex markets and foster strategic collaborations.

Andrew Collins' story is one of relentless pursuit of excellence, adaptability and visionary leadership. The ability to transform challenges into opportunities, coupled with a dedication to continuous learning and improvement, makes him a formidable force in any industry. As he continues to explore new horizons, Andrew remains a beacon of inspiration for entrepreneurs and business leaders worldwide.
