About your Customer

Worldline is one of Europe's largest payment technology and services companies, providing payment processing, merchant services, and financial transaction infrastructure to businesses and financial institutions across the globe. Operating in over 50 countries, Worldline serves major banks, retailers, airlines, and enterprises requiring robust, scalable payment solutions.

The Challenge

Between 2019 and 2020, Worldline was accelerating its international expansion strategy — entering high-growth markets in Turkey, Singapore, and South Korea simultaneously. At the same time, the business was managing a complex payment infrastructure migration for a major airline client. The scale and pace of the programme demanded senior project leadership with deep payments expertise and proven cross-cultural delivery experience across multiple geographies. Worldline needed an experienced operator who could integrate immediately into their programme structure without a lengthy onboarding period.

The Solution

Grant & Graham deployed a Senior Project Manager with specialist experience in international payments infrastructure and multi-market delivery. Working directly within Worldline's programme structure, our consultant took ownership of the international expansion workstreams across Turkey, Singapore, and South Korea — managing local stakeholders, coordinating cross-border delivery teams, and ensuring each market entry programme remained on schedule and within scope. In parallel, the same resource led delivery of a significant payment migration project within Worldline's airline vertical. This technically complex programme required careful coordination between Worldline's engineering teams, the airline client, and third-party infrastructure providers across multiple time zones — with rigorous risk management and structured cutover planning to protect live payment processing throughout. The ability to deploy an experienced interim resource at short notice — without the delay or cost of a permanent hire — meant Worldline could move at pace across all workstreams simultaneously.

Great pleasure working with such experienced people at Grant and Graham.
