How We Price

Five engagement models. One scoped per problem.

We match the commercial model to the work, not the other way round. Most mandates use one model; some combine two (for example, a fixed-fee diagnostic followed by a day-rate interim engagement).

Day rate

Used for interim management and most consultancy. Rate scales with seniority and sector. Days tracked, invoiced monthly.

Fixed fee

Used for discovery audits, scoped strategy engagements, and company formation. One number, clear scope, clear end.

Monthly retainer

Used for Growth as a Service, board and advisory roles, and ongoing M&A support. Predictable monthly spend, rolling scope.

Success fee

Used for M&A advisory and certain commercial transformation mandates. Paid on closing, tied to deal value or outcome.

Outcome-linked

Used when the outcome is measurable and the client wants skin in the game. Portion of fee paid against agreed milestones.

Consultancy

Strategic advisory. Day rates or fixed scope.

Senior-led advisory across strategy, transformation, M&A, operations, and sector-specific domains. Every engagement is run by a practitioner who has held the role, carried the number, and delivered the outcome — no junior analysts learning on your time.

UK, Netherlands, and US domestic travel included in all fees.

NDA signed on day one

Mutual NDA as standard. Client-specific NDAs accommodated.

Communication costs

All phone, conferencing, and digital collaboration tooling covered.

Consultants arrive with laptop, phone, and all required software.

Insurance

Full professional indemnity, healthcare, and business liability cover.

Clear written agreement

Scope, deliverables, milestones, and termination terms in writing, upfront.

What’s Not Included

The honest list. Always pre-approved, never surprise-billed.

A handful of cost categories sit outside the headline fee. Anything in this list is flagged before it happens and approved in writing.

International travel

Flights, hotels, and per diems for trips outside the UK, Netherlands, or US. Booked in economy / business class per client policy.

Third-party subscriptions

Paid ad spend, SaaS licences bought in your name, data provider fees, and any tooling you keep post-engagement.

External specialists

Specialist sub-contractors (lawyers, auditors, niche technical contractors) brought in on your behalf.

VAT & local taxes

VAT where applicable, withholding taxes, and local statutory charges specific to your jurisdiction.

Frequently Asked

Straight answers on fees and engagement.

Why a range instead of a single number?
Ranges reflect the reality of boutique senior consultancy. Within each role, the price moves with sector complexity, cross-border scope, regulatory burden, and whether the mandate is a new build or a stabilisation. We price the individual engagement after a 25-minute scoping call, and the written quote is a single number — not a range.
Can we combine engagement models?
Yes, and this is often the most effective approach. A common pattern is a fixed-fee diagnostic to frame the problem, followed by a day-rate interim engagement to lead delivery, followed optionally by a monthly advisory retainer to protect the outcome after handover. Each stage is scoped separately so you can stop at the end of any phase.
Do you offer discounts for longer commitments?
Yes — material ones. Day rates drop 5–12% on engagements of six months or more, and 12–18% on engagements of twelve months or more. Monthly retainers scale similarly when committed for a full year. Discounts are reflected in the quote from the start, not negotiated line by line.
What about multi-currency invoicing?
Prices on this page are shown in EUR. Invoicing is available in GBP, USD, or AED at interbank rates on the invoice date — no FX markup. UK and US clients typically prefer their home currency; we flex to what suits your accounting team.
What are your payment terms?
Day-rate engagements: invoiced monthly in arrears, net 14. Fixed-fee engagements: 30% on signature, 40% at mid-point, 30% on delivery. Monthly retainers: invoiced on the first of the month, net 14. M&A success fees: invoiced on completion, net 7.
Can we cancel early?
Day-rate engagements: 30 days’ written notice after the minimum term. Monthly retainers: 60 days’ written notice after the minimum term. Fixed-fee engagements cannot be cancelled mid-phase but can be paused. We have never pursued a cancellation dispute; we would rather end an engagement cleanly than force one that is not working.
Why does your Board Advisor rate look different from what I have seen on day-rate lists?
Board and advisory work is structurally different from day-rate consultancy. You are buying availability, judgement, and continuity — not units of time. The retainer covers scheduled attendance and ad-hoc access between meetings, which does not convert cleanly to a day rate.
Do you ever accept equity or deferred fees?
Occasionally, for early-stage clients with strong commercial fundamentals. Typically a blend of reduced cash day rate plus equity warrant or revenue share. We are selective — we take equity where we have conviction in the business, not as a funding mechanism.
