About Kate

A strategic architect for the new space and dual-use economy.

Kate Beresford-Green is a strategy and international business development leader working at the point where space, defence and government meet commercial markets. She maps where a market is going, defines the position a business can credibly hold within it, and then builds the partnerships, alliances and entry routes that make that position real.

Her fifteen years in the UK market span fintech, machine learning and artificial intelligence, cyber, government and defence, which gives her an unusual view of how deep technology actually reaches a customer. That breadth matters in new space, where the buyer may be a government department, a prime contractor and a commercial operator in the same quarter, each with a different procurement logic.

Kate works across new space, in-orbit services, dual use, defence and government, with an active interest in robotics and adjacent deep technology.

She takes mandates as an interim or fractional Chief Strategy Officer, as an international business development and partnerships lead, or as a senior advisor running a focused diagnostic. She has spoken at Westminster and Imperial College, and on behalf of industry bodies including the CBI, and is a co-founder of an initiative supporting women in the space sector.

Sector Focus

Where deep technology meets government and commercial buyers.

Kate's primary focus is the new space and dual-use economy, with the surrounding defence, government and deep technology markets that fund it, regulate it and buy from it.

How Kate Can Help

Four capabilities. One strategic architect.

Kate's work runs from the diagnostic at the front, understanding a market well enough to make a decision, through to the partnerships and market entry that convert that decision into revenue.

01

Go-to-Market Strategy

Mapping an emerging market, defining where the business can credibly win, and building the proposition, pricing and route to the customer around it. Particularly useful where the technology is ready but the commercial path is not yet obvious.

02

Strategic Partnerships & Alliances

Identifying, opening and structuring the relationships that shorten the route to market: primes, operators, engineering partners, investors and government stakeholders. Kate works the introduction through to a working commercial relationship rather than stopping at the meeting.

03

International Market Entry

Taking a business into the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Taiwan, with the regulatory, procurement and cultural differences that each entails. Dual UK and US right to work, and eligible for UK security clearance where a mandate requires it.

04

Fractional & Interim Strategy Leadership

Stepping in as an interim or fractional Chief Strategy Officer, or as part of a growth-as-a-service team, for founders and boards who need senior strategic capability without a permanent hire. Typical engagements run from three months, hybrid, with a two week lead time.

Why Work with Kate

Three reasons clients bring her in.

Space and dual-use markets are young, thinly mapped and unusually political. Kate is brought in when a business needs to understand one quickly and act on that understanding.

REASON 01

She maps markets that are not yet mapped

New space, in-orbit services and dual use have no settled playbook. Kate builds the market picture from scratch, so a board can make a decision on evidence rather than on the sector's own optimism.

REASON 02

She speaks commercial and government

Fifteen years spanning fintech, AI, cyber, government and defence mean she can hold a conversation with a procurement officer, a prime contractor and an investor, and translate faithfully between all three.

REASON 03

The network is the deliverable

Strategy in this sector is only as good as the doors it opens. Kate's value shows up as introductions that convert, into primes, operators, government stakeholders and investors across four markets.
